Eva worked as a teacher of Modern Languages for a long time – you can see a noticeable Spanish influence in some of her paintings – she spends some months every year in Spain where she has a second home. During her period as a teacher she concentrated on producing commissioned art work, whenever she had the space and time. Now having reached retirement age she can at last devote all her time and energy to her enduring love of painting.
She has also, in recent years, been able to travel extensively with her paint box to many countries, which is reflected in her displayed work. Her paintings can also be seen in America, South Africa, Germany and Spain.
She has a wide range of subjects, painted in a variety of media. She paints landscape, still-life, portraits, animal and plant studies. She has had some challenging commissions in her time, including a moving mountain train, a motor-bike rider and a baboon! She recently completed illustrations for a book about Spain and Spanish.
Underlying all Eva’s work is a keen interest in light and colour. More than anything else she is a colourist.
She now intends to continue to show her work from time to time and also would welcome commissions. |
